I\'ll start, I took this today over on Lake Lucille in Wasilla, Alaska about 6 houses from where Sarah Palin lives. Good view of the lake and a couple of Pioneer Peak in the Chugach Mountains which are only 20 miles away.

2 Degree F, -17° Celsius

In a few weeks the ice should be thick enough for people to drive on.

Can  you see Russia from there?

@alstemptress Dont give up we want to see your pic:)
I\'ve never used the method people have described with an Image host.  I just change the size in the properties of the file to fit what is allowed then attach it at the bottom.  make sure its either 499 pixels or 50kilobites total, on my computer there is a chain link so if you change one dimension it will fit the others so it doesn\'t distort.  when you look at it it might look small but on WARF\'s it will be fine.  Good Luck

If I got on top of Pioneer Peek on a sunny day with a telescope I still couldn\'t see Russia:dry:

Took a few more on Friday since work was slow.

A couple shots near the State Fairgrounds in Palmer, Alaska.

That\'s \"Ice Fog\" in the background which is a huge problem on the roads in this area. It happens when the evaporating water off the river freezes into minute particles of ice that end up sticking to the roads and trees. It\'s very beautiful when the trees are covered with it. It just about killed me about 11 years ago near here.

Same fog with the Knik River Bridge in the background. The bridge is part of the Glenn Highway which is the only road out of Anchorage that lets you drive out of Alaska.

OK anyway, the link works but it won\'t embed for some reason. The first pic is from the top of a ridge here on the home place (Missouri) and the other is taken from my back porch in the bottom some 200 and some odd feet lower.
