Radio Wire Colors
« on: November 28, 2018, 12:53:21 PM »
Hey all,

Someone cut off the connectors on the radio harness.  Looking through the electrical schematic, it seems some wire colors weren't labeled on there.  Does anyone have all the wire colors and where they go for the two connectors?

Thanks!

Here is one source and there are several others regarding the wiring pinout and color standard.  There are many available on the interweb.

Alright,

Got all the wires from the harness figured out if anyone else runs across a previous audio installation "expert" who thinks cutting off connectors is better than getting the widely harness adapter.

F300/F310 - May apply to other models as well (Daihatsu color codes from schematic in parentheses):

Wire (F310 Harness)Wire (Standard Adapter)Description
Gray (Gr)RedAccessory (ACC)
Green/Black (G-B)YellowBattery (BATT)
Brown/Black (Br-B)BlackGround (GND)
Pink (P)WhiteLeft Front Speaker Positive
Violet (V)White/BlackLeft Front Speaker Negative
Blue (L)GrayRight Front Speaker Positive
Light Green (Lg)Gray/BlackRight Front Speaker Negative
Pink/White (P-W)GreenLeft Rear Speaker Positive
Violet/White (V-W)Green/BlackLeft Rear Speaker Negative
Blue/White (L-W)PurpleRight Rear Speaker Positive
Light Green/White (Lg-W)Purple/BlackRight Rear Speaker Negative

What wire you choose for positive versus negative on the speakers doesn't matter, what does matter is that you connect the correct wire to the correct side of the speaker and stay consistent, you don't want any out of phase signals.  Of course I'm going to run my own wire to the speakers, but I did manage to figure out where all the wires lead to.

Cheers!

Thanks for posting that. I have the same thing with mine and will be using this for the radio install.
