Separating outboard CV (birfield) joint
« on: November 25, 2018, 11:25:59 PM »
Hello fellow Feroza owners!

Does anyone have any tips on separating the outer CV joint?

Specifically removing the splined middle shaft from the inner race of the CV. The manual is very unhelpful in this: It says that the "outboard bearing is a part not to be disassembled." On the other hand there are outboard CV joints for the feroza on sale. Also the exploded view shows a snap ring similar to what holds the inboard end of the half-shafts inside the diff, so with enough force it should come out, right?

Any tips on how to get 'enough force'?

I don’t think theres any other way than using the biggest hammer you can find and smash it off.  Thats what they did with mine after I couldn’t nt budge it.
