Aging Gas CAp
« on: October 18, 2017, 07:38:55 PM »
Just lately DW was complaining that when I go over rough terrain or hit a big bump, she smells gasoline and that it was making her sick.

I investigated the tank, the filler tube, the FI manifold, and couldn't find any evidence of a leak.  So I started with the simplest thing and went to AutoZone and got a new cap.  Problem solved, apparently, as I drove over several RR crossings at a good speed, and no gas smell.

So the old gas cap was only 36 years old, but who's counting?
