Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I don't yet have a rig worthy of WARFS membership.

However, the reason I'm here is that there is a tidy looking Feroza SXII that 's been sitting on the side of the street for sale literally just round the corner from me. I've been looking at it for weeks now and doing a bit of research has led me to this bloody amazing forum. Gotta say between this forum and some of the threads I've read on other Australian 4x4 forums, I'm bloody keen to take this thing for a drive and give the guy an offer.

I've read a few of the threads here on buying a Fez and some of the things to pay more attention too when inspecting one. For the most part it seems like mostly the stuff you'd want to cover for a car of that age? Rust in the chassis or bodywork, any leaks from the engine, gearbox or sump, make sure it runs OK with out missing, check the colour of the oil.

If I do manage to get the car, I've also seen that it may be a good idea to replace the timing belt if there's no indication that it's been done recently (in the past 150,000km or so - don't actually know the life of the engine at this point in time). As well as obviously replacing all basic fluids as soon as I can if I don't have an indication of they're age.

Is there anything else I should pay close attention to during the inspection, or be expecting to do if I get my hands on the Fez?

Cheers,
Dave
