If the check engine light stays on after your Daihatsu Rocky (aka Daihatsu Feroza / Daihatsu Sportrak) is started the computer in your truck has detected a malfunction. A self-diagnosis system is built into the ECU of your vehicle. If any abnormality should occur in the signal systems of sensors, the self-diagnosis system memorizes the malfuntion code number in the ECU.

These codes are displayed when the following procedure is performed:

1. On the battery side of the vehicle there should be a green connector.
2. If the following conditions are met, short the test terminal with the ground terminal (pins 1 and 2 - see the figure below for reference)

(i) Battery voltage is at least 11 volts
(ii) Throttle valve fully closed
(iii) All accessory switches turned off

|5  2|

NOTE: Make sure no other pins are shorted except those specified.

3. Set the ignition switch to ON, making sure not to start the engine.
4. Record the diagnostic codes that are flashed by the check engine light. There will be a series of flashes that are seperated by short off periods; the codes will be seperated by longer pauses. Keep reading until the codes repeat.

what pins would you short (or what else can you do) to actually reset the check engine light?
